Happy Holidays...

Hello Everyone!
Happy Holidays! I hope you are all enjoying your holidays.  Just to remind you about homework for the holidays:

Literacy:

Read a book of your choice (not your reading book.  You should be reading that anyway).
Write a review on your book.  Make me excited about the book.  Give your opinions and thoughts.
I would love to hear what stories/story have you gripped, or even the opposite!

Best 2 reviews will be published on our class blog!! and Gold stars!

  • * Title
  • *Author
  • *What was the story about?
  • *Who are the characters>
  • *Would you recommend this book? why? why not?
  • *What are your opinions / thoughts about the book?

Numeracy:

Remeber for numeracy you need to learn your times tables upto x10!  We will have a quick
times tables test when you get back.
  • Get someone at home to give you mixed questions.
  • Practice the tables you're not so confident with.
  • Write them down, can you see any patterns that help you learn them?
  • Can you work out division questions, using your tables knowledge

Here are some table games you can try:

Helpful words:  Misty, bitter, crooked, strange, ice, towering, faint

My example:
The old castle stood towering over the land. Its creul, pointy towers high among the clouds engulfed in the morning mist. The fresh, cold snow of winter lay silently on the roads as a bitter breeze crept among the crooked branches of the naked trees. A stange feeling cloaked the land...
